Willesden Sling Bag — Recycled Nylon, XL

Willesden is the North London neighborhood where ORI co-founder Emma’s grandparents first landed when they arrived in the UK. When she started designing bags, she named a style for that first place. This is the XL version, sized as a substantial everyday crossbody rather than the pocket-sized sling most people picture.

ORI built it from rPET recycled nylon, spun from post-consumer plastic bottles into a triple-coated, weather-resistant fabric. Adjustable crossbody strap that clips to either shoulder. Front zip pocket for the things you reach for first. Organizational panel inside for keys, cards, and small items. A hidden pocket on the back for the things you’d rather keep close. Cotton webbing that softens into something more comfortable with wear.

What actually fits inside?

The Willesden XL is sized more like a substantial everyday crossbody than a pocket-sized sling. It fits a tablet up to 10 inches, a small book or notebook, a wallet, and the daily essentials (phone, keys, sunglasses) with room to spare. Not sized for a full laptop.

Is it comfortable for all-day wear?

The adjustable cotton webbing strap softens with use and stretches to fit crossbody at most heights. The bag itself is 16.5 inches long, which is on the larger end of what most people wear as a crossbody. If you’re between sizes or unsure, sizing up is the safer call.

Can I wear it on either side?

Yes. The strap clips to the left or right shoulder, so you can swing it to whichever side works for what you’re doing.

Waterproof or water-resistant?

Water-resistant. The recycled nylon is triple-coated to shed rain and light spills. It’s built for a downpour on the walk from the car to the office, not for submersion.

How do I clean it?

Most everyday marks come out with a damp sponge and a little pressure. The material is designed to hold up to regular cleaning without breaking down. ORI’s own guidance is to skip the washing machine unless something serious happens.

What if it isn’t right?
